DND to buy 2 light lift fixed wing aircraft for P814M
MANILA, Aug. 1 (PNA) -- In line with its efforts to upgrade the defensive capabilities of the Philippine military, the Department of National Defense (DND) announced that it is allocating P814 million to acquire two light lift fixed wing aircraft.
Undersecretary Fernando Manalo, of the DND special bids and awards committee, said that the aircraft must be able to operate in any environment and capable of providing "organic general support for territorial defense, internal peace and security plan, internal security operations, disaster response and national development."
The funds that will be use to acquire these planes will be sourced from General Appropriations Act and the AFP Modernization Act Trust Fund.
Manalo said the planes also require integrated logistics supports.
Interested bidders must have completed a similar project within the last five years.
Winner suppliers are required to deliver the aircraft within 548 calendar days from the opening of the letter of credit.
Pre-bid conference will be held at 10 a.m. on August 9 at the DND bidding and awards committee conference room which is located at the basement of the DND building in Camp Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Bidding documents can be acquired for P75,000 with bid opening slated for August 23. (PNA)
