Filipino workers immediately needed in Taiwan
ELECTRONICS factories in Taiwan are looking to immediately hire at least 3,000 Filipino workers less than a week after Taipei lifted its freeze on the hiring of workers from the Philippines.
According to the Pilipino Manpower Agencies Accredited to Taiwan (Pilmat), some 3,000 job orders are now available for Filipino job hunters who want to work in the electronic sector in Taipei.
"There is the immediate need of 3,000 workers for electronic factories, which did not hire workers from other countries and instead patiently waited for their preferred choice Filipinos for the highly skilled positions in their companies," said Pilmat president Angel Tong.
Last week, Taipei lifted the economic sanctions it imposed against the Philippines for the shooting death of 65-year-old Hong Shi-cheng on May 9 off the waters of Batanes. Taiwan lifted the retaliatory measures against Manila after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recommended the filing of homicide raps on eight personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)
